The United Methodist Thrift Store was awarded a Cheyenne County Impact Fund Grant of $1,000 in 2019.
The Thrift Store has not had a fresh coat of paint or new carpeting since 1971. Plans were made and carried out to paint the interior and install new flooring throughout. The cleaning and reorganizing brought up the idea of having more attractive and study shelving for specific areas. The well worn counter top has hazardous sharp corners, was very heavy to reposition so it was determined to improve its appearance and mobility. Grant dollars will allow the store’s income to be given back to the community and to those in need of immediate financial assistance.
